British-Libyan filmmaker and artist working in Tripoli, Libya. Studied at Central Saint Martins. Returned to Libya in 2011 after the revolution to work and explore her father’s homeland. With a lust for storytelling, and an interest in human rights and gender equality, Naziha Arebi explores various mediums, engaging audiences with a different narrative from this part of the world, using visuals to instigate change and spark debate.
Naziha Arebi regularly creates content for Oxfam, Hivos and UN women in the region and works extensively with civil society and sports for social change. She's part of Euromed Audiovisual iii program at Cannes, attended the IDFA Academy and is a Sundance Lab and HotDocs Blue Ice fellow. Her photographic work has been exhibited internationally in London, Tripoli, Barcelona, Paris, Ivory Coast, Beirut, Berlin, Benghazi and Malta.
