Adrian Paci was born in Shkodra, Albanië in 1969. He studied at the Art Academy in Tirana. In 1997 Adrian Paci went to Italy and started to work with various media: painting, sculpture and video. His work has been on view in many important international group exhibitions extensive solo shows in museums all over Europe (2003 Baltic Art Center, Gotland; 2005 Moderna Museet, Stockholm; 2013 Jeu de Paume, Paris; 2015 maxxi Rome). He is represented by kaufmann repetto Milan-New York.

In his videoworks Paci looks for new cinematographic languages and modes of expression. His experience with exile, the shock of sudden separation and to adapt to a new environment determine the content and context of his videowork. He thus tries to trace his roots and rediscover his past.
Centro di Permanenza Temporanea surprises the viewer by showing an escalator for an airplane, but without the plane. The people, passengers, are packed on the staircase. They seem to float on an timeless transitzone. They are not connected to any location, all they do is waiting...
